“My 13 year-old son’s
self-esteem was plummeting because he felt he never could do as well academically or in sports as his twin brother. I thought if (he) could feel success at something all his own, maybe his confidence would increase. He’d already tried karate, Boy Scouts and guitar lessons without any interest. As a 4-year member of Training Effects, I knew they offered kid’s classes and had been told they can help with a child’s sense of self-accomplishment. My son reluctantly agreed to try it.
“After a couple of tough weeks, he found that he really enjoyed the class and now he doesn’t mind a little sweat. He talks about the drills, other kids and can even show his athletic brother some new moves. (My trainer) and all the trainers at Training Effects are encouraging and positive to (my son). He is being challenged, but never feels defeated.
“Now my son has something all his own and the boost to his confidence has also helped his grades go up. His teachers are writing ‘Great’ on his progress reports.”
